Today ( May 13, 2012) Google celebrates Mothers Day with an excellent animated doodle. The Doodle shows animation of two kids who are coming fast and hug their mom. Among the two one is giving a lavender color flower to their mom. The Letters G, l and e in the Google logo are greyed out and mouse over on logo is showing as “Happy Mother’s Day”. On clicking the Doodle shows the search results for the search keyword “Mother’s Day”.

Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring mothers and celebrating motherhood.It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March, April, or May. Most of the countries are celebrating Mother’s Day on Second sunday of May month.

Julia Ward Howe was the first to proclaim Mother’s Day in 1870. The modern holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in America.In 1912, Anna Jarvis trademarked the phrases “second Sunday in May” and “Mother’s Day”, and created the Mother’s Day International Association.
