Twitter has announced in its blog post, titled ‘Tweets Must Flow‘, that it can now selectively censor tweets on a country-by-country basis, rather than globally.

Users’ tweets will be blocked in a country where they are against the law, but shown in nations where they are legal. For example, a pro-Nazi tweet may be banned in Germany and France but it may appear some other country.

It also said It will remove illegal and spam tweets.

“While we may need to release information as required by law, we try to notify Twitter users before handing over their information whenever we can so they have a fair chance to fight the request if they so choose.” stated in it’s blog.
